South Africans are still faced with an increase in blackouts as Eskom pursues what CEO Andre Du Ruyter calls ‘philosophy maintenance’. De Ruyter says Eskom has spent a lot of money on maintenance but the outcomes have been poor.
Addressing the media on Friday, the CEO said Eskom will continue to work with law enforcement agencies including as Hawks and the NPA to bring those guilty to book, and to recover money from those individuals.
The continuous financial bleeding of the SOE’s saw the South African airways receive a R3.5 billion from the Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA) in a move that attracted wide criticism.
