There are 54 students and all of them work their way through a tough three-year placement designed to enable them to cope in the outside world and to handle a job in hotels and catering. There are thrills, spills, tears, and laughter in this bold experiment which involves a steep learning curve for kids who have often come from a very protected, almost infantilized home background.
